Pirates in baseball: Connor Norby hits sixth homer as Marlins’ road win streak ends

by | Jul 10, 2025

All good things must come to an end.

The Miami Marlins have been on a tear lately. East Carolina alumni Connor Norby and Clayton McCullough have been a part of a successful streak that has seen the team emerge from the doldrums of last place in the NL East.

However, the Marlins dropped a 7-2 decision to the Cincinnati Reds on Wednesday. That came despite a solo homer by Norby, his sixth of the season, in the ninth inning. He also drove in his 26th RBI.

The loss dropped Miami to 42-49 on the season and ended an 11-game road win streak. Miami is now 12-4 over its last 16 games.

The Marlins and Reds play one more game on Thursday.
