Phillies: No guarantee Jeff Hoffman will return to team in 2025

Phillies President of Baseball Operations Dave Dombrowski hinted that either Jeff Hoffman and Carlos Estévez could return next season. However, having either or both is no guarantee.

Hoffman and Estévez were arguably the two most high-leverage relievers down the stretch this season. Dombrowski was asked Tuesday whether the team could bring back both relievers this winter. Both are currently free agents.

“Well, you never know with payroll because you don’t know what adjustments and changes that you end up making,” Dombrowski said.
