Former ECU golfer Blake Taylor is serving as the interim coach of the men’s golf program at UNC Wilmington.
Taylor, who is from the Wilmington area, got the interim title over the summer after serving as an assistant coach. During the past 18 months, he’s battled and overcome Stage 4 Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. He found this out while working the 2024 CAA men’s golf championship.
He learned this past spring that he was now cancer-free.
“You hear about it, you never really think it’s gonna happen to you,” Taylor told Wilmington’s WECT.com.
On Thursday, Taylor and the UNCW program announced the signing of two high school athletes to golf scholarships.
