The Cleveland Guardians may have some concerns with starting pitching in 2025.
JustBaseball.com says the team’s projected Opening Day rotation only had one player — Tanner Bibee — with over three years of MLB service time. Shane Bieber will see action later in the season after he recovers from Tommy John surgery. So someone needs to step up to help the team in 2025.
Gavin Williams may be that guy. He’s got MLB experience but struggled in 2024. Could 2025 be his breakthrough year?
JustBaseball.com reports in part, “Williams certainly has the most raw potential of all the young arms in the Guardians rotation, given his former status as one of the game’s top prospects. However, this raw potential has yet to translate.”
