Keaton Mitchell likely would not have played as much, if at all, in Saturday’s preseason game against the Dallas Cowboys.
A hamstring injury more than took care of that anyway. Mitchell went to Dallas but did not play in his team’s 31-13 win. Baltimore head coach John Harbaugh said Mitchell was kept out of practice all week as he recovers from the injury.
“He’s got a little hamstring. Those have to heal,” Harbaugh said. “He’s working on that. I think there’s a chance [he returns to practice] this week. If not this week, he’ll be fine for the opener.”
He had nine carries for 68 yards and a 23-yard touchdown in Week 1’s 24-16 win over the Colts. The Ravens close out the preseason at the Washington Commanders this Saturday at noon. The season opener is Sept. 7 at the Buffalo Bills.
