Harold Varner III’s best round moved him up to a tie for 23rd place on the final day of play Sunday at the LIV Golf Andalucia at the famed Valderrama in San Roque, Spain.
Varner shot -1 to finish at +2 with six other golfers. He had birdies on No. 4 and 14 and a bogey at No. 18. He earned $190,714 with his finish, according to SI.com.
Talor Gooch hung on to win the event with a -8 for his first golf title since 2023. He fired a -1 and held off Jon Rahm, who rallied with a -6 to finish second at -7. Rahm’s round helped Legion XIII to the team win. 4Aces GC, which is Varner’s team and which led after the second round, fell into a tie for third at even par.
