We’ll see later on Saturday if ECU alum Gavin Williams can continue the success he had during Spring Training.
Williams had a spectacular start to his season with two wins and 26 strikeouts in 17 1/3 innings over five starts. He’ll face the Kansas City Royals Saturday afternoon.
Tim Stebbins of MLB.com writes, “The 25-year-old, who is slated to make his season debut on Saturday against the Royals, looks reinvigorated this year after his down sophomore campaign in 2024.”
He told Stebbins, “The whole Spring Training made me feel good, especially [after] all the work I put in in the offseason,” Williams said. “Seeing it pay off has definitely helped out. It’s a confidence boost. I know how my stuff is playing.”
