Felton named American Athletic Conference Player of the Week

IRVING, Texas – East Carolina senior guard RJ Felton has been named the American Athletic Conference Player of the Week according to an announcement by the league office on Monday afternoon.

Felton is coming off a strong weekly performance, averaging 23 points, 10 rebounds and five assists over ECU’s two wins last week over Mount Olive and George Mason. The Aiken, S.C. native nearly recorded his first career triple-double on Tuesday against the Trojans with 19 points, 12 rebounds and a career-best eight assists.

He played a career-high 46 minutes in ECU’s thrilling double overtime win on Saturday against George Mason, scoring a game and season-high 27 points to go along with eight rebounds and four steals. He also moved to 10th all-time in program history in career points at East Carolina on Saturday and currently has scored 1,247 points in his time as a Pirate.

Felton and the Pirates are 4-0 for the first time since the 2020-21 season and will face Jacksonville State on Nov. 21 at 3:30 p.m. in the first game of the Boardwalk Battle in Daytona Beach, Fla.
