Injuries are a part of the NFL. When a star player goes down, the concern level always rises.
That’s usually the case with any quarterback but for the Baltimore Ravens, that also includes running back. Derrick Henry had a spectacular 2024, helping the team lead the NFL in total yards. If Henry would go down with an injury that would sideline him or end his season, what would the team do?
FanSided’s Cody Williams explored that option and what the Ravens could do if Henry was injured. The Ravens have ECU alum Keaton Mitchell along with Justice Hill but Thompson believes that’s not enough. That would be especially true if Mitchell doesn’t play at the level he was at before his ACL injury in 2023.
So Williams suggests the Ravens go after Travis Etienne of the Jacksonville Jaguars. He enters a contract year and could be moved at a minimal cost. He would also make the Ravens’ offense even better, when Henry is healthy or injured.
At the same time, it might limit Mitchell’s play in the backfield and force the Ravens to create other options for him such as kickoff and punt returns and catching passes out of the backfield.
