IRVING, Texas – After a breakout game, East Carolina women’s basketball’s Devin Hagemann has been named the American Athletic Conference’s Freshman of the Week, the league announced Monday.

Hagemann, a rookie guard by way of Detroit, Mich., earned the weekly recognition after torching the nets for a game-high 21 points on four made threes in the Pirates 75-64 win over Tulane on Saturday. She also recorded three assists in the win. With the effort, Hagemann improved her career-high scoring by 16 from a previous best of five—and needed, it was, as the Pirates snapped a three-game losing streak with the conference victory.

The honor is Hagemann’s first of her career and the third for the program this season with Amiya Joyner being previously tabbed Player of the Week on two occasions.

Hagemann and the Pirates will be back in action on the road on Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. as they head to the Queen City to face Charlotte.
