East Carolina catcher Michael Kalinich had two games to remember on Thursday and Friday for the Greenville Yard Gnomes.
Kalinich had the best night of the season as he went 4-for-5 with a run and three RBI in Greenville’s 8-4 win at the Morehead City Marlins on Thursday. He drove in a run on a single in the third, then later scored. In the fourth, he doubled in another run to give Greenville a 7-2 cushion.
Morehead City cut the deficit to 7-4 before Kalinich singled in his third run for the final margin.
He also scored a run in Greenville’s 16-2 win over Greensboro on Friday. He also had a walk playing as the team’s designated hitter.
Kalinich has played in 12 games for the Yard Gnomes, batting .229 (8 for 35). The double and RBIs were his first of the season. He’s also walked eight times.
