D’Ante Smith gives back to hometown during Christmas

by | Dec 21, 2024

Cincinnati Bengals offensive tackle and ECU Alum D’Ante Smith may be out for the season with an injury, but he’s still able to give back to his hometown.

He had his D’Ante Smith Foundation and Good Shepherd Baptist Church hold the second Christmas celebration in Augusta, Ga, according to a story from WJBF. Although he wasn’t able to be there in person to help, the foundation was able to give $12,500 to assist those in need. During the first event last year, the foundation raised $10,000.

“With the hurricanes and things that have gone on in the community, He’s really big on rehabilitation,” said Jay Bass, Director of the D’Ante Smith Foundation, to WJBF. “So, there’s two different things. There’s, you know, charitable work, and there’s rehabilitation. He doesn’t want to just give money away. He actually wants to help empower and implement and change things that are going on in the city of Augusta.”

Smith is a 2020 grad of ECU. He is recovering from a torn patellar tendon.
