It’s not often we get to see a game that features Pirate vs. Pirate.
That could be the case on Saturday in the CFL as Ottawa and East Carolina football alum Justin Hardy go to Hamilton to face fellow ECU alum DaShaun Amos. It’s unclear whether the two will actually square off against each other, but it could happen.
Hardy, a wide receiver, and Ottawa (1-4) are in a must-win situation. He collected his 3,000th career receiving yard in last week’s loss to Edmonton. He is currently tied for 10th in the CFL with 20 catches for 246 yards and a touchdown.
Amos had an interception in last week’s Hamilton win against his former team, Toronto. He has eight tackles for the season. Hamilton is currently 2-2 on the season.
Week 6 is a smaller schedule with just three games on tap compared to the usual four. The other games include:
- Calgary at Saskatchewan, Friday, 9 p.m.
- British Columbia at Edmonton, Sunday, 7 p.m.
The only other ECU alum who could play in a game is linebacker Jeremy Lewis for BC (2-3). He has been upgraded from out to limited in practice so far this week. We likely won’t know if he’ll be able to play until at least Saturday.
The players on a bye week include:
- Stanley Bryant, OL, Winnipeg Blue Bombers
- Tyler Snead, WR, Montreal Alouettes
- Hampton Ergle, OL, Toronto Argonauts
- Parker Moorer, OL, Ottawa Red Blacks
