Trey Yesavage isn’t the only ECU alum prospect the Toronto Blue Jays are high on.
Carter Cunningham hit a game-winning home run to beat the New York Yankees on March 17. As Ryley Delaney of BlueJaysNation.com wrote earlier this week, “Carter Cunningham only received three plate appearances this Spring Training, but he made one of them count as he hit a walk-off home run.”
Cunningham is listed as one of five (other) Toronto prospects to keep an eye out for in the minors this season. He had a solid 2024 with the Pirates but struggled some for the Blue Jays at Single-A Dunedin (.197, two homers).
So it’ll be interesting to see if the “one shining moment” can lead to a big 2025 season for Cunningham.
