Carson Whisenhunt among 20 non-roster invitees to Giants spring training

ECU alum Carson Whisenhunt was one of 20 players who received non-roster invitees to the San Francisco Giants spring training.

Whisenhunt, a left-handed pitcher, is regarded as the club’s No. 3 prospect. He had a 5.42 ERA over 25 starts with Triple-A Sacramento in 2024.

“Whisenhunt, 24, has been used almost exclusively as a starter thus far, but the Giants are light on left-handed relief options, so perhaps they’ll consider giving him a chance to vie for a bullpen spot alongside fellow NRI southpaws Joey Lucchesi, Ethan Small and Raymond Burgos this spring.”
