Now that Spring Training is over, the focus turns to Opening Day in Major League Baseball.
Each team answered some questions and raised some new ones. For the Cleveland Guardians, starting pitching questions appear to be answered for now.
The two biggest players with question marks were Tanner Bibee and ECU alum Gavin Williams. Bibee seemingly answered his questions by signing a new contract to stay with the Guardians. Williams did his part with a spectacular Spring Training.
AwayBackGone.com, a Guardians site powered by FanSided.com, points to Williams’ strong outing in Spring Training. He won two games, had a 2.94 ERA and 0.97 WHIP, 15.3 K/9 in 12.1 innings.
“This upcoming season should see Williams perform at the high level that was expected of him last year and be a dominant presence in Cleveland’s rotation,” AwayBackGone.com writes.
