Blake Harrell to be named ECU football coach pending trustees’ vote

WNCT’s Brian Bailey tweeted on Monday morning that Blake Harrell would be named the new head coach at ECU.

Harrell is 4-0 after taking over for Mike Houston, who was fired earlier this season. The Pirates host Navy this Friday.

The ECU Board of Trustees is expected to approve the move in a vote Wednesday. Harrell couldn’t directly address the news during Monday’s press conference.

However, earlier in the day Athletic Director Jon Gilbert all but confirmed the news to the team.
