AAC pairings set, Pirates to face UTSA on Thursday

The East Carolina men’s basketball team will face UTSA in the last game of Thursday of the second round of the AAC Tournament.

The Pirates will play at 9 p.m. on ESPNU. They will look to bounce back after an 81-53 loss at Florida Atlantic on Sunday.

IRVING, Texas – The bracket is set for the 2025 American Men’s Basketball Championship. The first round will be played Wednesday at the Super Pit in Denton, Texas, while the remainder of the tournament will be played at Dickies Arena in Fort Worth, Texas, Thursday through Sunday, March 13-16.

No. 16 Memphis is the No. 1 seed after finishing the regular season with an overall record of 26-5 and 16-2 in league play. It was the Tigers’ first regular-season title in The American. The Tigers will play the winner of No. 9 seed South Florida and No. 8 seed Wichita State on Friday, March 14 at 1 p.m. ET/noon CT on ESPN2.

North Texas (23-7, 14-4 American) claimed the No. 2 seed and will open the tournament against the Tulsa/Temple winner on March 14 at 7 p.m. ET/6 p.m. CT on ESPNU.

Defending American champion UAB (20-11, 13-5) will be the No. 3 seed and will play the winner of UTSA and East Carolina on March 14 at 9 p.m. ET/8 p.m. CT on ESPNU.

Tulane (18-13, 12-6) claimed the No. 4 seed and will play in a quarterfinal on March 14 at 3 p.m. ET/2 p.m. CT on ESPN2. The No. 5 seed, Florida Atlantic (17-14, 10-8), will face the winner of Wednesday’s first-round game between Rice and Charlotte on March 13 at 2:30 p.m. ET/1:30 p.m. CT on ESPNU.
