AUGUSTA, Ga. – East Carolina punter Tomas O’Halloran is one of 63 FBS punters named to the Midseason Watch List for the 2026 Ray Guy Award, the Augusta Sports Council announced Thursday afternoon. O’Halloran is the first Pirate named to this midseason watch list since Worth Gregory in 2015.
The Ray Guy Award is presented annually to the nation’s best collegiate punter.
On the season, the Australia native has booted 32 punts for 1,492 yards with a 46.6 average ranking eighth nationally and second in The American. Nearly half of his punts have gone 50-plus yards with a career-long punt of 60 yards against App State. In all, 10 punts have landed inside the opponent 20-yard line, 14 have been fair caught and just one has been a touchback.
The Ray Guy Award Committee will determine the ten semifinalists for the Ray Guy Award. The semifinalists will be revealed on November 13. Three finalists will be selected by a national voting body of Football Bowl Subdivision sports information directors, media representatives, and previous Ray Guy Award winners. After the finalists are announced, the voting body will cast ballots again to select the nation’s top punter. The winner of the Ray Guy Award will be announced live during The Home Depot College Football Awards on December 11.
