ECU alumni Carson Whisenhunt and Trey Yesavage each had a solid outing on the mound for their respective minor league teams during Saturday’s play.

Whisenhunt improved his record to 2-2 with a 5-0 win by the Sacramento River Cats over the Salt Lake Bees. He pitched six innings, gave up no runs on a hit with a walk and nine strikeouts. He lowered his ERA to 2.70 with the outing.
UPDATE: @treyyesavage ’s night is done. He finished tonight with three runs on four hits with no walks and 10 strikeouts. Through three starts this season, the ECU alum and Blue Jays top pitching prospect has a 2.84 ERA with 18 K in 12.2 IP.

Yesavage didn’t factor in the decision in the Dunedin Blue Jays’ 12-3 win over Lakeland. He pitched five innings, gave up three runs on four hits and struck out 10 without a walk. He left with the Blue Jays trailing 3-1. They scored seven runs in the sixth inning to take the lead for good.

- Shawn Armstrong, Texas Rangers: Did not pitch in 4-3 win over Dodgers
