BigCatCountry.com: Jaguars could pick ECU’s Winston Wright in draft

by | Apr 11, 2025

Like most teams entering the NFL draft, there is a certain need at almost every position.

The same holds true for the Jacksonville Jaguars. The SBNation.com website BigCatCountry has been keeping busy with what the Jaguars are doing and the positions they need to fill with the draft.

One area is at wide receiver. A name that’s popped up of interest for them is former East Carolina University star Winston Wright Jr. Simon Carroll believes the budding star may be just the guy they need to catch passes.

NFL Rookie Watch posted on its X account that Wright could be a sleeper in the draft and “will be a Deebo Samuel type of player once he’s in the league.”

Carroll pointed to Wright’s success at ECU and West Virginia both as a receiver and kick returner, saying in part, “And he got back to peak playmaking form at ECU after suffering a serious injury in a car crash whilst at Florida State.”
