Gavin Williams is looking more and more like he’s ready for the Major League Baseball season to start.

The ECU alum had his second straight strong Spring Training outing as the Cleveland Guardians beat the Los Angeles Angels, 8-1, on Tuesday. He allowed a run on three hits with six strikeouts and a walk in 2.1 innings. Williams left the game after giving up the Angels’ run.

He pitched two innings and struck out three in his first Spring Training game.
Shawn Armstrong pitches again
ECU alum Shawn Armstrong gave up a run in his second outing for his second straight Spring Training game for the Texas Rangers.
The Oakland Athletics beat the Rangers, 6-3. Armstrong came on in the fourth inning and gave up the run on a hit, two walks and two strikeouts.
Zach Agnos tagged for two runs
Zach Agnos’ fifth Spring Training outing didn’t go quite as well as the Colorado Rockies reliever had hoped.
Agnos gave up two runs on two hits, both homers, with two strikeouts in the sixth innings for the Rockies against the Cincinnati Reds. His ERA is now at 5.40 after that outing, where Colorado won, 9-5.
