Several media outlets have been reporting the Dallas Cowboys’ interest in current Detroit Lions running backs coach and former ECU head football coach Scottie Montgomery.
Montgomery is one of at least three others who have interviewed for the job, according to ESPN.com’s Todd Archer. Before his job in Detroit, he also served as running backs coach with the Indianapolis Colts.
Yahoo.com reports it’s the first time Montgomery is believed to have been interviewed for an open position since he arrived in Detroit. SI.com reports, “In 2023 the rushing attack ranked fifth in the NFL at 135.9 yards per game and tied for first in the league with 27 rushing touchdowns. In 2024, that unit finished the year ranked sixth in the NFL with 146.4 yards per game on the ground, and second in rushing touchdowns with 29.”
