IRVING, Texas – East Carolina women’s basketball’s Devin Hagemann has been named the American Athletic Conference’s Freshman of the Week for the second week in a row, the league announced Monday. Additionally, Anzhané Hutton earned weekly Honorable Mention recognition.

Hagemann, the rookie out of Detroit, Mich., earned her second recognition after averaging 13 points and four assists on the week. She also contributed a pair of steals.

Hagemann’s best performance of the week came in the team’s road win at Charlotte in which the point guard poured in 16 points while adding a season-best six assists. She did so on a torrid clip from the field, shooting 8-13 for better than 60 percent shooting on the day.

Hutton, on the other hand, was simply phenomenal, particularly in that Charlotte game. The graduate forward contributed 18.5 points and 10.5 rebounds per game while also blocking three shots.

Against Charlotte, Hutton had a career day with 21 points—one off of a career high—and 12 rebounds on 9-11 shooting from the field. She followed that up with a team-high 16 points and nine rebounds at Rice on Saturday.

The weekly recognition for Hagemann is the fourth for the Pirates this season with Amiya Joyner bringing home two Player of the Week honors. This is the first time Hutton has appeared on the weekly honor roll this season.

Hagemann, Hutton and the Pirates will be back at home on Wednesday as they host Temple. The game is set for 6 p.m. on ESPN+.
