Jeff Hoffman seeking starting pitcher money to sign with team

by | Jan 3, 2025

ECU alum and free agent relief pitcher Jeff Hoffman is likely seeking a new place to play.

Many believe Hoffman will not return to the Phillies, where he was a solid reliever and an All-Star selection in 2024. Now, it’s believed Hoffman wants a chance to be a starter again. With that comes the demand for that kind of money.

ChiCitySports.com reports Hoffman is seeking a contract similar to reliever-turned-starter Clay Holmes got with the Mets. He received a three-year, $38 million deal, the same thing Holmes got, according to Leo Morgenstern of MLB Trade Rumors.
