The Texas Rangers have signed ECU Alum and free agent pitcher Shawn Armstrong to a one-year deal, according to MLBTradeRumors.com.
The report states the right-hander, who is 34, a New Bern native and a 10-year veteran, will play for the first time with the Rangers. He has played for the Guardians, Mariners, Orioles, Marlins, Rays, Cardinals and Cubs.
He was 3-3 with a 4.86 ERA in 57 appearances in 2024 with the Rays, Cardinals and Cubs in 66.2 innings. He struck out 66.
