ECU’s Frida Zuniga Guzman Earns Third AAC Diver of the Week honor

IRVING, Texas – For the third time this fall, East Carolina redshirt junior Frida Zuniga Guzman has been named the American Athletic Conference Diving Athlete of the Week according to an announcement by the league office Tuesday afternoon.

Guzman, who collected honors on Oct. 22 and Nov. 5), competed in the Wolfpack GAC Invite where she set a new school record in the platform dive with a score of 284.25 claiming top honors in the event. She finished second in the 3-meter dive posting a score of 322.10 for a second-place finish and placed third in the 1-meter dive with a score of 289.50.

The selection is the fifth career AAC honor for Guzman as she was also a two-time winner in consecutive weeks back January of 2024 (Jan. 23, Jan. 30). Since the start of the 2024-25 season, Guzman and junior Sara Kalawska (swimming) have earned weekly honors.
